Did you know..
I just read, per Pantone, that the color for 2010 is Turquoise. Yeah! I'm really into blues lately. Not the music. I got the artist blues....

Marci is snoring, Jake is sighing...
As I watch the pups, I am holding paintbrush in hand, dreaming of one day....

"Art begins with resistance - at the point where resistance is overcome. No human masterpiece has ever been created without great labor." ~ Andre Gide
Happy New Year!!!
"Art begins with resistance," so does my New Year. Have been doing anything but starting a project. I am not one to start any year with resolutions, I feel they can be fruitless...resolutions last as long as a very strong will lets it. Anyway, I will not allow myself to get caught up in a mad artist block by trying so hard. It doesn't have to be so difficult. I remember years ago, when I also resisted doing any kind of art, I met a well known motivational speaker whose name escapes me. :( After discussing my situation with him, he suggested I do one thing everyday, no matter how small, toward my goal. So I bought a paint brush one day, held it the next, organized my paints, etc. After some time doing this I finally painted like mad!! Didn't start out creating anything worth writing home about, but the feeling was there. I loved every moment of it and I guess that is what the masterpiece is: the moment of creation. It does start with resistance, for me anyway. With gentle nudging leads to something incredibly awesome: that explosion of art when resistance is "overcome." It soon will be...
Until then, I wish you and yours a joyously creative New Year!! God Bless!
